Explore maps to train for PvP
Olden Era includes a developer panel that lets you reveal an entire map. It's an excellent training tool: you can study a template at your own pace, understand how it's built, spot the resources and key points, then prepare your strategies before facing it in PvP. No mod required.
Activate the tool in the main menu
From the main menu screen, simply type the studio's name on your keyboard: Unfrozen. There's no text field to click, you type the letters directly. When it registers, the "cheat" label appears next to the game's version number (at the bottom of the screen): that's the sign the tool is armed.
Start a training game
Start a game solo or against the computer (PvE), preferably on the template you want to learn. The tool stays active as long as the "cheat" label is shown.
Open the panel with F2
Once in game (on the adventure map), press F2 to open the developer panel. That's where you enable map exploration.
Study the map
The goal here is to learn the terrain. The panel gives you everything you need for that:
- ›Reveal the whole map (remove the fog of war): you see the template's full structure at a glance.
- ›Spot the resources, mines, buildings and objectives: where the strong points, paths and zones to control are.
- ›Move freely (unlimited movement) to inspect every corner and measure distances between key zones.
- ›Replay a situation as many times as you want to test an opening or a route before applying it in PvP.
The exact options and their layout may vary from one update to another.
